does that mean they also killed the heavily advertised nuketown zombies map from the more expensive versions of the game?

I love me an explanation that doesn't actually explain anything.

This one is probably my favourite non-explanation of 2012.

Black Ops 2: Nuketown 2025 map pulled from online playlists

Postby karkify » 19 Nov 2012, 23:40

People are getting rather mad over this, which is understandable, but don't Treyarch/Activision hold the right to change anything online without players consent? That and technically no one paid for this map so it's of no real loss to anyone. I personally think the map is an awful clusterfuck.
I see this escalating over the coming days  Imagine the day they announce they are shutting the servers down for CoD4...

Hated original map tbh, for same reasons you mentioned, and not buying this game, but think it's disgusting they pulling this map. OK people didn't technically pay for it, but they encouraged people to preorder on basis they'd get this map. They might have waited (unlikely I know) otherwise to buy. Didn't say in advertising, preorder and get a map for few days. No doubt they covered their asses with legal talk, but still an underhand trick

It wouldn't exactly be the worst news ever at this stage. CoD 4 and WaW's MP has been plagued with hackers/modders since Black Ops came out,the latter more so. I think most people (including myself) have stopped caring since Infinity Ward has basically said they're not going to fix it.

Also, wasn't this the map that was supposed to be pre-order only? Seems kind of strange just taking it away for special events. Was it advertised like that?

Well I was going to pick up this game at the weekend but seeing as I wanted to play Nuketown, I think I will be buying Hitman instead.

Terrible map but it had a unique benefit. Shoot all the heads of the dummies off in under 60 seconds and you could use teh big TV screen on the street to play old Atari/Activision games:

IT HASN'T ANY MORE! READ THIS!

According to the above link Nuketown has been moved to a "Bonus" section with Chaos Moshpit on smaller maps.

First they stiffed those who went and bought the hardened edition, now you can only play nuketown in a custom game, WTF?

Oh my, what a way to treat people.

I'm so glad I didn't buy the game this year, I've heard its a head glitching fest with the most frustration yet of a COD.

Oh well, hopefully MW4 will return back to the winning formula that IW have set over the years, apart from MW3 which was made in a hurry due to the fact the original team left.
