Mass Effect 4 will 'explore new directions', powered by Fros

Sort of guessed it would use Frostbite. Pretty much every upcoming EA game does.

A new direction: so not just red, blue or green, then.

Purple, maybe? Brown?

I'm sure somebody on here said it would probably use Frostbite as a p**s take recently. I'd like the lottery numbers off them now.

Seeing "uses Frostbite" or whatever isn't really the selling point EA thinks it is. The few games i've played that use it have been a bit rubbish. Not saying it's the engines fault but it's certainly not filling me with anticipation.
Here's a lockpick, now jog on.

So reading between the lines, multiplayer will probably be a large focus, and it may even be an MMO.

Sigh. Hope I'm wrong.

Yupper, Frostbite is the flagship engine for EA now, near enough. People are getting quite angst in regards to it too, in my opinion Frostbite 2 does not really show whats so special about it to EA until next-gen lands. The stuff the engine can do, compared to what it is doing, is just amazing

bioware. stop spreading your resources. the last time you spread your resource's thin you ended up making 3 terrible games in a row at the cost of your brand being dropped and now become synonymous with half assed innovation. make 2 games at most and certainly finish DA3 before production of ME. it's a universe ripe for telling a good story in don't kill it off

Exactly, looking at BF3 on high-end PCs is something else. The first wave of games on next-gen consoles will be all about Frostbite and maybe the new CryEngine. Unreal is still looking good, but it won't be out infron any more when consoles have more power under the hood.

Just goes to show how much they messed up the series with Mass Effect 3, barely anyone is looking forward to this.

Bullshit, BioWare!

You guys couldn't even be respectful to the original game with the final entry. ME3 was absolute garbage, and judging from your actions since its release, I see no reason why you'll do any better with ME4 or any new Mass Effect games. This is the same studio that ruined Dragon Age with only the second game in and pretty much killed Mass Effect with ME3: a game that lived up to pretty much none of your promises and abandoned almost everything that previously made the series good for the sake of mass appeal.

In fact, that's what you should just call the next one: Mass Appeal 4.

They said "Frostbite" engine not Frostbite 2... So what engine are they going to be using?
