1 million people tapping away ? Great, send them to the moon so they can hollow it out for me so I can build my evil lair.

Molyneux appeals for donations as Curiosity woes continue

Postby MisterBedo » 12 Nov 2012, 11:18

due to popular demand we now offer the option for kind people to donate

Riiiiiight........so people have been saying "I love this random, monotonous block tapping game Pete, but I hate how I can never log in. Is there a way I can give you money so that I can contiue random, monotonous block tapping?"

On the one hand, I do feel genuinely sorry for him, he's on a rapidly sinking ship. On the other hand, he's been in the industry long enough to know that any multiplayer experience needs a solid and reliable back end. Being a small company is no excuse if you're still going to put an app out there, hype it to hell and then ask people to use it.

Unless he's fooling us all, and the real experiment behind Curisosity is to find out whether people would put up with server lag, drop outs and a generally poor experience, before being asked to pay to fix it.

I can offer him a cup of tea and a biscuit of his choosing. That's my best offer Pete, take it or leave it.
Here's a lockpick, now jog on.

So the 'game' doesn't work properly and he wants people to pay for the company's shortcomings? Why would anyone do that?

What?!? Has no-one bought the £50,000 DLC for this??? Well no wonder they've run out of cash! Both myself and Mr Molyneux were both certain that would be bought on Day 1!!!

Just goes to show the DLC model doesn't work.

The game is not fun! It's like a giant piece of bubblewrap.

I... really don't see the point of this thing. Is this a game? A social experiment? If so, what results are Molly and the gang expecting? I'm more confused than curious :?

Hi guys and gals, here's a free game. Only it doesn't work unless you give me money.

You sly dog you.
Some say he's half man, half fish. Others say its more of a 70/30 split. Whatever the percentage, he's one fishy bastard.

We all do it by buying DLC from companies that release bug ridden games - Skyrim

That's because they never launched the £50,000 DLC with the game; instead, it costs 3 billion in-game coins.
