Metal Gear Solid 4: 25th Anniversary Edition outed by retail

The 'original' mgs4 edition is the same price, so probably just a new box.

I reckon you could print off the new sleeve and hey presto, a 'new' game.

I don't know why I should get this. I already own MGS4 and the HD Collection and the PS1 version of Metal gear Solid, and the gamecube remake.

I own EVERY Metal gear Solid game so far.

Now an Xbox 360 release .... would be good.

It would be nice if it included a box of party poppers and some kind of paper hat; maybe a few blackcurrant Solid Snake jelly sweets as well.

Good old Shopto, cheapest by a big margin.

As for the game, is it me, or does this release seem a bit pointless? If it was a 360 port that would be understandable (and great), but it seems you get the exact same stuff as the original game on the original platform it was released on, except for a couple of Vr missions which I'm guessing hardly anyone will play. Great for people who haven't got the game already to be able to pick this game up cheap, but for the majority of Ps3 owners who've played it or still own it it seems pointless.

Oh, and my copy of Mgs4 already has a slip case!

Oh, still no Xbox 360 version coming?...it's not fair because 'Mass Effect 1' is coming to the PS3 & everyone said it never would lol

Zavvi have since dropped their price to £14.95, your move ShopTo!

Including the original would be a start.

Played through this once when there was no trophy support, so may pick this up for my second playthrough, considering i nolonger own it. Hoping its as epic as i remember the second time through.

Tempted to go watch the final fight scene on youtube, but don't want to spoil it for myself :?

It is still graphically superior to a lot of current releases, and if you can stomach the near endless cutscenes its a fantastic game.

If you havent got a copy of this yet now would be the time to get it.

I did enjoy it, but the ratio of cutscenes vs gameplay was still way off (hugely in favour of cutscenes), only being beaten by Mgs2 which basically felt like one long video. I know the story was and is always awesome in the Mgs games but still it would have been nice to feel as if I contributed a bit more in Mgs4 where I felt more of a passenger along for the ride if that makes any sense? I must say though, going back to Shadow Moses was definitely my favourite part of the game. I wish they'd remake Mgs1 with those graphics and gameplay enhancements. That would be something really special.
