GameStop VP pleads guilty to $2 million embezzlement charge

Postby Xbot4life » 04 Nov 2012, 00:19

I went to gamestop last week and they offered me 23$ for dishonored. I then went to best buy and they gave me 40$ gamestop is a garbage company and they rip off every person who shops there. Trade games at best buy everyone, way better. I hope gamestop closes due to future consoles going more toward direct download. Terrible company.
blah blah blah blah blah, I don't care about your clever response, only proves me right.

How can you say you want a company that hires thousands of people to close ? So you're wanting thousands of people to lose their jobs because you disagree with the company's business model ? I remember this argument from others much like yourself regarding the then possible demise of Game. I believe that we need specialised game retailers on the high street because there will always be a demand for a physical copies of games, the only way digital downloads would work is if everyone had fast internet connections but that isn't the case.

We dont need specialized game stores anymore. Basically every other store sells games now, plus you can order on alittle thing called the internet. As for peoples jobs, i could care less about the peasants of retail. Im pretty sure they can find another crap job that pays min wage, or a higher education is possible. You know, like an adult? So yes, i hope gamestop goes down and i will laugh and laugh and laugh when it does. F@#k that place.

I don't know why Game shops don't create themselves a better proposition. Hold competitions, run leagues, have a floor with networked consoles where people can LAN play, with a cafe or bar in it. Charge a monthly membership fee and offer better trade in rates etc for members. They need to be more relevant. I haven't bought a game from one of these shops in 4 years - because I have no reason to go.

If there was some kind of local competition on that I was either interested in watching or taking part in I'd have a reason to go - and might pick up a game whilst I was there. I'd at worst be a member and have a few beers/coffees.

the reason why shops like gamestop dont run competitions and set up leagues is that they cost money to set up, all that gamestop and similar chains care about is maximising profits for there shareholder's they don't give a toss for you or me profit , profit and more profit is the name of the game. and i bet gamestop have regained the $2million by ripping even more customers off than they already do, anyone who use's gamestop are either ill-informed or just stupid.

have you got a job? Do you know what it's like losing a job when the company goes down? If you were an "Adult" then you would understand.

What's wrong with minimum wage? Its better to earn some money than none at all, again if you were an "Adult" you'd realise that.

You know what, I hope you lose your job in the future. Then you'll know what it's like.

We might not like specific stores or shops, but to hope they go under and thousands lose there jobs is ignorant bordering on the lines of immaturity. Which is what ill put a few of these comments down too.

It pays to think before you type.

Oh please. Ive been reading this forum for about 3 years now and my commnt is no different from the negativity toward EA, activision, microsoft, sony, etc... just for making games and over priced dlc. At least my comment is based on a company that legit rips people off. Do i want thousands to lose jobs, no. I want a company to suffer sales abit so they can realize the mistake and stop cheating people. Hate on me all you want, but its a valid argument. Its borderline insane that a game is priced at 25$ trade in value on launch day.
