Ouch, still at least it's better than last time. The thing is they need more western third party support for the 3DS, too many games hit Japan way before here, if they even come here at all. Still a great console though and I hope they get back on track profits wise soon.

The 3DS at £149 isn't value for money, you don't even get a game with it. On top of that, the tacky 3DS XL is even worse, more so being at £179. Games at £40 tops is comical. Next gen games will top £60. This gen, people are daft enough to pay £60+ for special editions etc. Gaming is cheap for me. No game is worth over £20.

I bought a 3DS XL because there are no games on the Vita and I have enjoyed Mario, Mario Kart and even Street Fighter. Not a bad console at all but it could do with some more games to appeal to an older market. I am looking forward to a few games on it as well like Luigis Mansion.

There's simply not enough software for the 3DS, to the extent where it's almost frustrating.

There's disappointing first party support for a console this old. Off the top of my head I can think of NSMB2, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Star Fox, Zelda: OoT and Kid Icarus. Of that list, three of them are Mario games and two others are remakes.

Virtual Console/Nintendo-Ware releases are incredibly slow too. It's been a year and a half since the console launched, why aren't Gameboy Advance games available to everyone yet? Why are there less than ten Gameboy Colour or NES games?

How can they possibly sit there and wonder why they're not meeting their targets when, at least for PAL regions, the problems are so clear?

Hard numbers to look at mind.

and that's with a Monster Hunter game too on the 3DS right?

Its a tough market out there right now and you get the feeling its why Sony and MS are nervous about releasing new consoles right now.

3DS weakness puts more pressure on the Wii U to succeed, which is far from guaranteed. Nintendo could be a profitable multiplatform software publisher, if they let go of their unnecessary hardware business.

Isn't the problem that Nintendo over estimated how well it would be doing not that it isn't doing well?

That's true. What concerns me though is the software drought. If you cut out the first party games, the 3DS has barely half a dozen third party games worth mentioning. It's great that Nintendo is encouraging them to Wii U, but we need them for the 3DS too. At the moment I am living off the slim pickings on the UK eShop! And not the new games either.

At this point in the DS's life I was spoilt for choice. I don't understand what has gone wrong this time though :?
