You would have to be an idiot for playing an illegally downloaded game before it's released in shops.

Ban them all Microsoft!!

it's stole property, i would have though perma-ban from halo 4 only until you've got proof of purchase of the real version

Why wouldn't you just unplug your router or ethernet cable whilst playing it? Surely they got caught because it showed what they were doing due to their online status.

Nope it puts a log on the system that it was played like achievements etc no way round it. its funny that they just ban the console and not the account probably a way to boost 360 sales before christmas Hdds are also unaffected

Fully deserved. If you can't wait however long it is and find something else to interest you then the fault is your own for being impatient.

I don't think banning them will really worry them that much.

Will this still be in place if my preorder gets sent to me a few days early like my preorder of Halo: Reach was?

I figured it was something like that but if their console stayed offline till after the official release would Microsoft still be policing for people that played it early? Surely it would have blown over by then and they could reconnect their Xbox to the internet.

I shouldn't think so; although to be on the safe said, stick to offline campaign play until it's officially released.

I think it's ok if you start playing the game a couple of days early. I was a bit worried when I got Forza 4 early but just played it and nothing happened. It's probably only playing it weeks or a month early that attracts Microsoft's attention.

I think playing it now 3 weeks before release is the problem. 2 days before release definately not as many people will have copies then. Unless MS is ready to ban a few million eh.
