Fable The Journey flops to 37th on UK chart

Postby luttman23 » 15 Oct 2012, 10:49

It's a shame to see this happen to Fable but gamers don't want to sit down without a controller and play a game which is totally on rails.

If they had brought out a REAL Fable game things would be different, I really hope this debacle doesn't destroy a great franchise.

Fable The Journey flops to 37th on UK chart

Sad really but not entirely unexpected

I do think back to that Kinect based MS E3 show where there were a few resolute fanboys on the forum pointing to Star Wars & Fable as proof that Kinect was for core gamers, the rest of us were kind of like that Sony advert - 'how do you play shooters & RPGs without buttons?'

The response was wait & see...we've pretty much seen it now; Kinect is s**t, so is Move but, then again, it wasn't Sony who claiming Move will let you be a Jedi, an Elf in Albion & give you a blow job at the sametime - that was definitely MS

Overall, of all the motion controlled gaming Nintendo still did it the better that MS & Sony & I thought the Wii was a load of balls, still do, I guess that tells its own story re: motion controlled gaming for this gen

Put it to bed. Forget about it and move on.

Next Gen the pressure is on Lionhead!

on rails belong in arcades and mobile phones. they do not belong on the sofa. i've really hated lioheads direction since fable 2, i knew something was wrong when thee first fable game was better than the second(the second game made the first game look "next-gen") and then with their crap xbl arcade games they've made and then fable 3 not being good at all.

There's either serious managment issues at lionhead or microsoft are subtlly destroying them so they become another rare

If they are going to continue pushing Kinect they really need to integrate it with traditional controls, rather than making it the be all and end all it is at the moment.

Agreed. The Lionhead team is tremendously talented. Looking forward to their next project!

Saw this at eurogamer and lol'd. Mate stood behind someone playing and waving his arms and the game had no idea what to do.

It genuinely surprises me that people don't expect this kind of performance from Kinect titles! Putting a popular brand on the game doesn't change Kinect's fundamental problems, so I'm not even remotely shocked by this. Putting a demo out beforehand probably didn't help matters.
Let's just discuss, not fight.

You wouldn't want to do it if you knew. It's where you laugh out loud over nothingness so hard you s**t and p**s yourself.

Surely you just use a megaphone. Of course you'd look like a prick but then anyone using the word lol is anyway.

I suspect it involves a serious amount of de-icer.
