Microsoft Points to remain standard on Xbox Live

GOOD!!!! I much prefer the point system as I have been able to get some really good deals on them! Also I much prefer the added security and not having to give Microsoft my Bank Card Details!!

Can't stand MS points. I'd much rather set up paypal, and be able to buy stuff at the actual content prices, rather than having to buy more points than necessary since they go up in odd increments.

Considering a lot of games release for £11.99 on PSN and then 1200 points on 360 which can be bought for like £8, I am completely in support of MS points at the moment.

Yep and thats why i'd keep them. There's always a special offer on somewhere for cheap points and ebay do some cracking deals as well. With most DLC and arcade games usually already being that wee bit cheaper on XBox Live compared to PSN getting your points for cheaper saves you even more.

You can get cracking deals on MS Points Cards, when there available, stock up and you can get some real bargains when a Game comes to Live you want to buy.

I'd rather have points because you can purchase them from different retailers at decent prices. If they used direct currency then we'd be forced to buy directly off microsoft which isn't exactly the best in value.
EA Sports: It's in the game(for a price).

That's fine. In turn, I will continue to not buy anything from the Xbox Live marketplace.

Why? when you're clearly saving money by buying points, I really don't get this attitude towards MS points, its a much safer and better value way of buying dlc and arcade games.

Your loss! If you bothered to shop around you would find MS point for next to nothing compared to buying them direct and even then the games work out cheaper than on PS Network....again, your choice, your loss!

Because point disguise the real price of what your purchasing.

What I really don't understand is the idea that if you scrap the points system then pre-paid cards and cheap deals on said pre-paid card will disappear  .

On the PSN I buy pre-paid cards because I dont want to use my credit card, through websites and the likes of eBay you can get some pretty good deals on cards. I recently picked up 2 £25 pre-paid PSN cards for £20 and that's not the best deals I have seen either, but it was the best at the time.

Maybe you can explain why points are better than real currency, remembering that you can actual still buy cards for the safer option and you can still get decent discounts on the cards.

As a marxist I've always detested PSN and its outright support of capitalism. Let us rise up brothers and sisters and smash the currency system and create a sustainable system of bartering with points.
