Not impressed at all.

I really hope he proves me wrong but it looks like he's a bit of a one trick pony.

Not sure why it is minecraft in space. Remains to be seen if it works on the same principles.

From what I've read and seen, its a lot more of a programming based game. There is a fully emulated cpu you can program in machine code. And the ships have a finite amount of power to run all the ship systems (ala FTL). I've no idea where the game is in any of this, but then that didn't stop minecraft from being a massive hit!

If it is just Minecraft in space then what's the point? Minecraft is great so I'll stick with that.

The plans for this go well beyond Minecraft. When you see people screeching through the galaxy, mining planets and playing street fighter 2 on the ships computer you might be enticed to try.

Notch has said already they'll be subscription fees so we can expect some strong multiplayer options. It's the freedom that makes Minecraft so great, building castles with friends was super fun. Give a man a spaceship and a cpu, you might be surprised what he can do.

I don't think so, I mean Minecraft is about wandering around, chopping down trees, mining and then building stuff. But if this is taking place in space on spaceships, then I can't see you chopping down stuff in your own spaceship and mining holes in it then building little houses.

I'm not really sure what it'll be like, but with an emphasis on trading, mining and looting it sounds like an Elite style game

Maybe not... but I can easily see the game having you mine holes in asteroids and then build little spacestations.

Looks awesome, and thankfully nothing like Minecraft.

Notch is so great.
