But the game was a simulation. No Doubt were a karaoke circus. One that, thankfully, had the good grace to split up and not taint my radio with their drivel any more.

But they haven't split up, they released a new album last month.
Here's a lockpick, now jog on.

Hang on, have you listened to the radio lately? Despite not being the great band they were in the Tragic kingdom/Return of Saturn era, their music would be a welcome break from the generic pop crap that fills the airwaves now. Commercial radio play whatever they have been paid to play and Radio 1 follow a playlist that's so bland during the day that you get to hear the same dull mumford and sons song every time you jump in the car.

Haven't listened to the radio in years mate due to the reasons you mentioned. Probably why I have thousands of CDs and just as many digital albums. It would be a stretch to say No Doubt would be a welcome break whilst keeping a straight face. All those types of artists sell out and sound like s**t covers of each other.

As a fan of the old style of no doubts music, I do feel that they have sold out. But it would still be better than listening to some div off the telly singing a karaoke version of a cracking biffy song and selling more than the recently released original.
Luckily the internet doesn't have a set playlist, and great independent artists can get known without being playlisted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/555%25 is a perfect example of what you can do without the help of Radio 1 and kerrang!
