Erm, well that was a bit of a shock. Did anyone see that coming. Wonder if he's off to set up his own company? He's a hell of a guy to have onboard as anything he says is instantly fired around the internet and hated or loved in equal measure.

Well this f**king sucks.

First Rod Fergusson leaves & now this. I'm worried about the Gears franchise now, those guys had so much passion for the universe they were creating.

Surprising news. Can't say I ever cared for Gears, but I always enjoyed Unreal .

He'll never make a better game than 'Dare to Dream'.

One of my favourite games as a kid.

Thats rather surprising, i wonder if he'll go into movies as he was working or set to work on the gears movie, that would be different/cool and suit someone creative. Hmm ,or maybe a short break and set up company and make a ipad/phone game and megabucks.
Hey its Martin A , not Martina by the way, cheers

Goodbye, so long, take care. Watch the door doesn't kick you in the ass on the way out.
You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.

Molyneux walks away from big Microsoft projects, and now Cliff too...

Are Sony picking up huge names for next gen first party titles?

I'm not baiting, I'm mostly a 360 guy, but there are big guns-for-hire out there now.

I didn't expect that. Say what you will about him, but it's always clear in his interviews that he is really passionate about games.

This is quite a loss for Epic. There are very few people in the industry today that can claim they had as big an impact as Mr. Bleszinski. I wish him luck in whatever he does next. Hopefully it's video game related an not something like beer brewing (I'm looking at you Dr. Zeschuk).

Lets hope Capcom sign him up he could fix the mess that is resident evil and put some western influence into the much need eastern disasters.
Cliff was awesome and Gears is one of the best franchises on the xbox.

The lot of you don't read too well, read between the lines too much or plainly doesn't understand the fact that this guy is on the verge of being burnt out after 20 + years without what we mortals call vacations, normal work hours etc. :-) He needs a break, wants new challenges and quit this job. This happens all the time, everywhere. I'm sure we'll be seeing/ hearing about Cliff and his new projects before we know it. :-)
