Why, for using a Blu-ray drive instead of a Dvd drive?

My 500GB laughs in the face of these pitiful installs.

It's a shame they[the people who make all these COD games] don't make it look as good as say -Killzone 3- What a shame it has to have cr*ppy Multi-format dated graphics[i.e that is not the fault of the Ps3 that, say no more] lol

Well you're in luck as they're definitely not using the CELL architecture again after the amount of moaning coming from the developers.

But what did the CELL replace?

Yep that's right the hard to develop for and often complained about early in the PS2s life cycle Emotion Engine

Won't matter anyway.

I know it's singing the same ol' song but the CoD developers are like Bethesda when it comes to PS3.

Ok they're not crippled at launch to be fair but if there are any multi-platform games that you can guarantee will get a "that'll do" PS3 port, it's the CoD series.

Can you blame em really? You're going to put more effort in for the one that pays you that bit extra, it's hardly a conspiracy.

Man thats a joke right? KZ 3 bearly gets 30fps, black ops kills that game graphically on pc builds as low costing as £200 and then of course you've got COD on the consoles running at more than twice the speed as KZ 3, online that absolutely kills the experience and skill of it in my opinion, gameplay is more important than graphics, but from my experience in COD and killzone i'd happily say COD has better textures than KZ3 thats probably one of the only positive things i can say about COD though, i'm thankful it runs at 60fps, the way all shooters should be.

It's a shame they didn't do a proper HD texture pack for both consoles to make the game look better, BF3 uses one for Xbox 360 and it looks stunning

BF3 runs at 30FPS, what's the point in better textures when CoD would no longer run at 60FPS? BF3 gets away with it because it's a slow paced game and not a twitch shooter.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't installing Blu-Ray drives actually pay off for Sony seeing as the format became the successor to DVD? I'm not sure it would have been a success if they hadn't included it. The issue is that the drive is p**s slow which won't be a problem for future consoles.

A texture pack wouldn't change the 60fps.

I believe BF3 is capped at 30fps because there are more players in a game, there is destruction, huge maps and so on

didn't provide specific numbers because "anything can, and does change during development."

Nah, I don't buy it. They already have a pretty good, if not exact, idea by now.

is this even a news-worthy "story"?

i give trearch kudos for listening to the fans, ps3 fans called for the blu-ray to be used less during play, they give them the OPTION (important part) to do so.

i fail to see anything they can be slagged off for.
