Halo 2 Anniversary now in development - report

Postby Bailey-AU » 06 Jul 2012, 15:56

I revisited Halo 2 campaign cooperatively with a mate who had never played any Halo games, and I have to say that it wasn't as great as I remembered it. The Flood especially seemed more frustrating to fight than what they were in CE, and the earlier levels are so much more linear in comparison to any other Halo title. But I'll be buying it anyway if they release a remake; I'm too much of a fan

Yes my original copies stopped working and despite the rahe abrupt ending it did have some rather epic moments.

It'd also mean that i could attempt some kind of epic Halo Marathon. Starting with Reach and ending with Halo 4 all in lovely HD.

Halo 2 Anniversary now in development - report

If they are going to do this then they really should just stick Halo 3 on the disc as well.

What would be really cool would be if they they made the transition from 2 to 3 seamless, added in the cut parts of Halo 2 that would have introduced Halo 3 properly, and then finally make them both have the same level of sheen (Halo 3 could probably use a little bit of a touch up too).

In case you weren't aware, Halo 2 ended in a MASSIVE cliffhanger because Bungie ran out of dev time, and so 'finished the fight' in Halo 3. One of the major disappointments of that game.

If MP is included then I would expect this out a year later than 4 to mop up those that don't like Reach of 4.

Risky as it could fragment your users between products.

Many of my friends are coming out from hiding and back on H3 to get those skills ready for 4 lol

I was disappointed with the ending as well, however it was addressed in the Halo: Uprising comic book series. Half of it entailed Master Chief being interrogated by The Covenant on board their ship. It's not a particularly meaty storyline, and to be honest would probably fit into a single cutscene.

I *NEED* to play 'Regret' again! The amount of times me and my mate teamed up to take on that level is insane. I think the amount of times we finished it was about 10% though... (Regret! Why do you have to be so hard?! Damn Elites and inconsistent autosave points...)

They're catching up fast. I can't wait until Halo 5 is released alongside Halo 5 anniversary edition.

It won't be Halo 2 MP. it will be Reach MP with the Halo 2 maps like they did with CE. A very different game.
