China giant Tencent acquires 'minority stake' in Epic Games

Postby toaplan » 19 Jun 2012, 15:17

Tencent is a diversified internet company. Their services include social networking and messaging, e-commerce, web portals... and online / mobile games. They seem to be a mixture of Yahoo, eBay, Twitter, Zynga and Gameloft... so not a game publisher in the traditional sense. Epic and its Unreal engine are quite important to western publishers, so perhaps they should also consider making an investment, if they haven't already done so.
