Crytek CEO weighs options for TimeSplitters 4

Postby Dazzaroonie » 11 Jun 2012, 17:34

It's a shame but I can understand Crytek's dilemma; it's hard to imagine the comic styling and self-depricating humour of Timesplitters fitting into today's military shooter-obsessed market. And although 1 & 2 were great fun I did feel the franchise had lost its edge by the third instalment, so maybe best left alone.

Crytek CEO weighs options for TimeSplitters 4

Postby Lt Fatman » 11 Jun 2012, 17:40

This game needs to be made. Timesplitters was so much fun. Just forget all this serious story line and notable main character rubbish and go back to what it's all about; the fun factor. The first and second game had this down to perfection. Do that and I guaranteee people will flock to buy this on release day.

This game can't be made nowadays, people would complain about balance.

I will give all my childhood memories of other games for this game to be made! Thats worth at least £2.48 and a packet of Rowntrees Randoms!

Timesplitters HD collection (comprising of Timesplitters 1, 2 and Future Perfect) for PS3/ 360 and Vita, with online/ split-screen multiplayer/ co-op still intact...

and I'd be happy to wait another 3 or more years for a sequel.

Imagine Timesplitters on Vita... All those medals and challenges to complete in single player - and then multiplayer to get through (hell, even playing against bots was fun in that game) and if they could make it cross-play with ps3.

Sigh, one can only dream...

I'd be happy with an Android HD remake with Wifi capability. Although the likelihood is extremely slim I'm sure...
Do not underestimate the power of Playstation...

I never said it was overrated, its very good but with six-barrel grenade launchers, some people will complain and reduce the mayhem of TImesplitters.

MW3 explosives barely make an impact due people complaining it was OP, even though only problem (in MW2) was that Scavenger resupplied GLs and rockets.

^^ This.
First I've ever heard of it.
It looks like a PSN, Live, Steam type of community for games that aren't linked. Not really sure.
Or its a type of Gaming Facebook type thing. Cant work it out from the website.
