"I think the 360 has a lot more than two years [left].

if that were true you would have showed more games this year. and forza 4.5 shows that the true sequel is in development for something else.

No it hasn't. They'll drop it like a brick as soon as the 720 or whatever they decide to call it is announced. A bit like what they did with the first one.

I dont think they will tbh, I think they will release a lot of casual stuff for it to keep the casual gamers playing but will concentrate most of their AAA games and big casual games on the Nextbox.

No doubt they will drop the price of the 360 when new hardware is released so people will be able to pick up a multimedia box to watch their 4OD, Netflix etc, play games and do everything else the 360 does for a bargain price and it may not be a massive hardship for developers that are making WiiU games to port them onto 360/PS3 to get more sales.

"The nice thing about the Xbox 360 right now is we're the number one console globally. "

So the WII has outsold you comprehensively and the ps3 routinely outsells the xbox360 month by month and has done for yonks, how are you number one dickhead?

Really ? You never showed anything of interest regarding the XBOX 360 at E3, couple of minutes showing of games then bored people to death talking. That was really great content

Thats a good thing. By the time the next one comes out third parties are beginning to slow support and in order to give your fanbase an incentive to pick up your new system you pretty much need to chop support.

Maybe 1 or 2 more games in the year after release but when the new one arrives many don't care.

Show me an Xbox 360 that came out on release that still runs today then, and show me it in 2 years time too.

On a serious note though:

I'm not even going to go on in detail about why this is bullshit, maybe the fake upscaled hd in every damn game, screen tearing and f**ked up framerates are why, don't know why so many people want both the 360 and ps3 to keep on going, there being pushed beyond what they should, then half the gaming community bitches about how the games of today are buggy only using 256mbs of ram, the next gen couldn't come any quicker, infact its late in my opinion!

Fanboys say whatever their masters say. Microsoft only say they have a 10 year plan because Sony said it and then both sets of fanboys say it.

Maybe PS3 fanboys feel they haven't got their moneys worth yet (given £425) but the chances are they are saying it because Sony say "PS3 will last 10 years". I bet secretly they are desperate for something new.

This is where we disagree, the PS3 has been about 4 million behind the Xbox for over a year now, and shows no signs of cathching it.

Why do people always pick up on what a guy from MS or Sony Say about sales, they are always going to big up their own, though it is fact about the sales difference between 360/PS3..

And just to add to that, both the PS3 and 360 are outselling the Wii now..and have been for quite some time now, so he isnt as wrong as you would clearly like him to be.......

Really? i can show you a 360 still running from launch, in fact 3 people i know still have the original.

And i agree about people clinging on for dear life to their current systems, they need to get over it, this gen has been good, but its now becoming stale, time for the old to make way for the new as far as im concerned.

I have a feeling people just dont want to part with the cash now, its all i can think of, because i can never remember anyone moaning about new generations of machines coming out before this. And thank god no one listened as we would still be on the master system or nes! :)

That's a lie and we know it. Consoles have pretty much maximized graphics (it can only get so much better) but that shouldn't be the focus any more. The focus should be larger maps, more content, more customiztion, real life physics, better AI... The bar has to be compoletely reset with the new consoles. It shouldn't just be Xbox 360 2.0, it should be new in significant ways but not in gimmickal ways either. If it doesn't make us "wow" than it's not good enough and clearly good graphics don't cut it anymore. This E3 there was so much good-looking games that it's even a bit funny: The Last of Us, Beyond, Halo 4, Far Cry 3, Watch Dogs, Tomb Raider, Crysis 3 and so much more I can't remember anymore. These consoles are at their very end and it's sad that Microsoft can't admit it :(

... Or maybe they're lying? >:3

realistically i can see myself still using the 360 for the next two years. even if i do own the next gen xbox if it isn't backwards compatible or if i can't afford it in the first year of release.

as a business i can see the 360 still selling succesfully for the next 2 years, as it is now.
