Sony's E3 press conference: Your verdict?

Postby Barca Azul » 05 Jun 2012, 08:39

Hard to tell really, do you have a link to their show?

What I've seen of the games, looks okay.

New consoles next year then? Seems both Sony and MS holding back for next gen by the looks of things.

I couldn't care less about "who wins E3" . I think it's a given Nontendo will be best at show considering they have new hardware to show, and with that comes lots of new exclusives.

Sony didn't have a great show, but the three big hitters they did show are all day one purchases for me.

Beyond, God of War and The Last of Us - Yay.

That book thing - Load of ol' shite.

Vita - Surprised there wasn't more, it's looking done for.

It was on at stupid o'clock, it opened well but then trailed off before finishing with what could easily be the game of the show. So far out of the 3 shows I've watched live (Microsoft, EA and half of this one) it's only just slightly been the best one. Mainly because of the exclusives that were on show, the 3 mentioned compared to just Halo 4 at the Microsoft show.

Now we wait for Nintendo.

Loved the exclusive games. But don't think SONY did anything that would stop the xBox360 being the top selling console in the US each month. They should of put the price of the ps3 to $199 in the US. Luckily for SONY the ps3 sells more outside the US than the xBox does.

Sony's E3 press conference: What's your view?

Postby Stan_Goodspeed » 05 Jun 2012, 09:20

I tought it was better than the abysmal MS conference, but not the most exciting Sony conference either. If Nintendo kept enough games up its sleeve to reveal it has its work cut out for it.

Overall there were quite a few exciting exclusives, and the multiplatform games were handled quite well. Some exciting Vita games too - not enough though, and I would've taken GTA and MGS over COD & Assassin's Creed any day, but that's just me. Almost nothing for the Move as usual, but the PS+ seems a good deal again. The Last of Us seems amazing, so is God of War. Not sold on Beyond and PS All Stars yet.

Luckily E3 2013 will be more exciting... won't it?

The MS show was bad, the Sony one was ok, but not great. The Last of US, GoW and Beyond looked like great games and i'll buy every one of them. But i am pretty sure they didn't play all their cards. As for Vita... now THAT was disappointing.... i was hoping for a ton of new game announcements... we got nothing. Ps1 classics... who gives a rats ass. I didn't get a Vita for that. We knew CoD and Ass. Creed come to the Vita... there were no surprices.

I thought it was good and slightly better than Microsoft's, as they actually showed of their big upcoming exclusives, whereas Microsoft only showed Halo 4 in length and neglected Forza and Gears. What was disappointing, was the lack of FF Versus, Agent, The Last Guardian (seriously, what's going on with the last 2?) and the rumoured Onlive/Gaikai partnership.

PSN Plus stuff sounds good, I'll buy a 3 month pass to see how it goes and The Last of Us looks brilliant. I was surprised at the leads brutality against that group they came across, I really think that dude is traumatised!

I'd give Sony a 7, roll on Nintendo!

From what I've seen, looks a 6,8 out of 10.

Good first party showing. Last of us, GoW and beyond and of course Wonderbook!

AC for vita, also nice.

just seems very end of season sale in its last week!

I feel kind of sorry for whoever stayed up until 3am over there to watch it. It had some brilliant, some mediocre and some outright poor showings. It needed a big surprise exclusive.

Agreed- no surprises is making this years E3 feel a little tame. From Sony's showing I'm only really excited for The Last of Us as I've never been a God of War fan and Beyond could be another Heavy Rain which I thought was average at best- will have to keep my eye on it. Thank Jebus for Naughty Dog.

I stayed up late, but don't feel sorry because I had a date with Diabalo 3
E3 just happened to be on when I was done

I don't blame MS or Sony for hyping their Glass/Book things. I can see both being very popular.

Black Ops and Assassin Creed branded games for Vita don't make me think it is going to fade away.
When Sony eventually drops the price it will sell very well.

If Nintendo is releasing their console this year AND it is £249 AND it is backward compatible with my old Wii disks then my resistance will crumble and I will get one - even though their Mii-verse looks a joke :|

Maybe Last Guardian will come out next generation? I'd rather wait than see something flawed rushed out.

The conferences of all big three was as expected, unfortunately. Nothing spectacular.
Well... good for indie devs. More money I'll spend on their games.

By the sound of it, it wasn't worth staying up for. For me, Ubisoft have delivered the best show so far.
EA Sports: It's in the game(for a price).
