"enforcing intellectual property rights outweighs any potential economic impact on video game console buyers."

...but does it outweigh the economic impact on the fat cats?

As with sonar, the big problem with detection is interpreting the returning signals.

 I can actually see that being the case!

On topic no way the 360 will be ceased from sale. But no doubt some fanboys are going to be jacking off over the possibility.

Could the US be facing a ban on Xbox 360s?

Microsoft were unable to respond to this article....

They're too busy stripping Darango of stolen patents.

This is the new darango final designhttp://img802.imageshack.us/img802/588/xboxdvd.jpg

and they said it wouldn't have a drive the liars

there isnt many people who havent already got one, especially in the US.

i dont think it will matter too much with 720 on the horizon.

I'd start illegal import for freshly opened black market.
Ban it.

Even more to the point does it outweigh the impact on the people who will lose their jobs both in China and the US over this?

Hands up who reckons sony are at home reading this and celebrating, thinking "for once it's not us"

I expect as is generally the case these things will be settled as it's not worth it in the long run to either company. That said wouldn't fancy taking on MS if they really want to fight it and feel they did nothing wrong.

That'll put an end to those predictable NPD sales figures articles CVG seems to love every other week. :)

I don't think the fat cats will agree that that's more to the point...

Shaw needs to have the ITC's commissioners agree with his recommendation, and if they do, it will find its way to President Obama's desk where he will have 60 days to come to a decision with his advisors.

Which he'll reject. Why wouldn't he support a US company?

That headline is something straight out of the Daily Fail. Just because one judge has his opinion doesn't mean it'll happen.

@barry

 Very good. Rumour is that he was admitted to the childrens ward this morning from the shock. If he's brave then his mum promises to get him a game.

Yeah, as if President Obama will back a ban on the most successful video games console that America has released in years.

Not a chance he will, and MS will rip Motorolla to pieces in court if they try, there is way way too much to loose. This is one case where the deep pockets MS have will show its true worth.

I wouldnt like to be the company on the receiving end, or be the judge who tried to ban the 360, imagine the contacts Bill Gates has? your career would be destroyed overnight.

I do image Sony must be cracking open the bubbly at the min though lol Would like to be a fly on the wall lol
