With Aliens: Colonial Marines finally getting new coverage as it gears up for release this autumn after what feels like forever, it would be easy to forget that Total War studio The Creative Assembly is making a new Alien game, and one that it hopes will be a "peer to Dead Space 2" no less.... read more

Creative Assembly's Alien game coming to 'future generation

Postby bamozzy » 03 May 2012, 12:56

I am looking forward to 'Prometheus'

I am also looking forward to decent and accurate 'Aliens' game - Dead Space style in the Alien Universe sounds Great!!!

However I still have reservations about the Gearbox 'Aliens: Colonial Marines as it appears that they still have the basic elements missing - everyone knows the Aliens have Acidic Blood but I see very little evidence of this in the gameplays. I know they have time to address this issue (and they have had plenty of time on this game) so I do hope they sort this out - It is a make or break issue and one that is vitally important to the 'Alien Universe'

Creative Assembly's Alien game coming to 'future generation

Postby ensabahnur » 03 May 2012, 12:59

I'm looking forward very much to Prometheus, i'm almost moist in anticipation!

Finally gonna get those answers to the questions that have been rattling around my head since i was a nipper and had nightmares about the facehugger. Where did the derelict come from, where was it going, what happened to the Space Jockey that he got himself impregnated and what happened to the thing that burst from his chest? Not gonna get all those answers but its a start.

Plus Sir Ridley Scott, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace and Micheal Fassbender is just a winning combonation.

@Bazmozzy nice Giger pic! (at least i think its Giger, it's very Gigeresque)

It's going to hurt if Prometheus doesn't live up to my quite possibly unrealistic expectations. I’m just about looking forward to it even more than The Dark Knight Rises. Hopefully Ridley will be on Alien/Blade Runner/Gladiator form

Oh aye forgot him, doing quite well for himself recently. This, Thor and the new Ghost Rider film. Not bad for a guy who starred with Jimmy Nail in Crocodile Shoes 2 and was in the terrible Space Precinct.

From what I understand of it, Prometheus is a two movie prequel, so won't answer everything in June. Plus, I don't think the xenomorphs feature at all. It's more about the jockeys and how they use biotech to manipulate worlds and create new species.

The latest trailer shows a xenomorph of a different kind, a kinda facehugger without the spider legs and white.

Aye he's one of mines as well, his posters used to adorn my bedroom walls when i was a teen. Some of it was pretty weird though with dead babies and a lot of vaginal depictions. My Grandparents must have thought i was a fuckin weirdo!

I still have my copy of Necronomicon 1 kicking about somewhere, i always wanted that mad biomechanical chair for my living room.

Different species from what I've read. The jockeys use numerous species as, effectively, bio weapons to clear planets!
