Composer thinks EA would 'probably back Shadows of the Damne

Postby WHERESMYMONKEY » 22 Mar 2012, 12:41

WAHOOOOO!!! SOTD was one of my favourite games last year and an under rated classic in every sense of the word. It's only £10 from most places online now so you've got absolutely no reason not to play it.

Maybe if we an manage to get it half decent lifetime sales a sequel will definately be on the cards.

Totally agree with the above, If you haven't played Shadows of the Damned you are missing out on a true gaming experience, especially at the price it is now.

Really cool game and one with a genuine sense of humour, albeit it very schoolboy toilet humour - it is funny however

Buy it now!

Composer thinks EA would 'probably back Shadows of the Damne

I really would love the sequel! Nothing better than 8 hours of ridiculous gameplay, characters and an ample amount of penis jokes along the way! Was one of the best games I played last year easily!
I came here to have me ass kicked and my bubble gum stolen. So I am definitely out of gum.

Now that is what I call news. I played SOTD twice and there's not many games that bring me back again, except for ones like Mass Effect and Fallout, oh and Metro 2033.

Really must get back to this game, i got as far as the first Big Boner bit but some other games took over. It is still installed on the harddrive though.

Though did EA really "support" the first game? I'd say they just released it and that was it, no advertising and the only way this game really sold anything was through word of mouth and Dodo's insistence that everyone play it.

Shadows of the Damned was a fine game, loved the puzzles, loved the weapons, loved the Resident Evil 4 on Acid vibe.
I hope they do get it together for a sequel, turn that s**t up to 11 ;)

It was good, but I don't think it was that good! If they did make a sequel and fixed all the little nuances then it could be a cracking Game, it had moments of brilliance but also moments of utter frustration.

I think with the numbers involved though, a sequels never gonna happen. Shame really.

Please EA, make it so. Perhaps we should start a petition...

A sequel would be more legendary than Stinky Crow.

I think that would make a lot of people happy. I would buy it new for sure, sorry EA I bought the last one used :( This game (series hopefully) deserves our support.

Depends on who owns the rights to the IP.

If EA do then there's no point in doing a sequel, they clearly didn't care for SotD or did but had no idea how to promote it.

If Grasshopper own the IP then I'd wait and see how Warner Bros handle Lollipop Chainsaw which is released in North America on June 12, Australia on June 13, Japan on June 14 and in Europe on June 15.

That's a good point. If it is EA though, it got mostly good reviews so the word of mouth should hopefully help down the road. It's a little bit like Darksiders in my opinion (even thought it got more support from THQ), Darksiders didn't sell a ton but press and people generally liked it. Darksiders II is getting pretty good press coverage, if they were to make a SotD sequel I would hope for the same.
