Ubisoft's long-lost survive 'em up staggers towards release

I Am Alive is a curious beast. Imagine Assassin's Creed if Ezio had to stop climbing every once in a while so he could have a breather. Alternatively, imagine Uncharted if Nathan Drake only had one bullet to spend on a room full of thugs. It's a survival sim that's striving for apocalyptic realism - but does that also mean that it'll also be fun?... read more

After reading that, I'm really interested now.

When's it released?

I heard this year but it's getting late.

It does sound like a genuinely interesting and different take on the survival genre. Any word on price yet?

Sounds great. As long as they don't have mini games that involve opening a tin of beans with a Swiss army knife.

Yep,i'll have a bit of that. It does sound like The Road quite a bit, which is probably the most depressing film i've ever seen. Still,i couldn't make the film characters choices for him. Videogames FTW!

Agree with the above posters this has suddenly shot way up the list of games I'm interested in, it genuinely sounds like it's going to be great, an interactive 'I am legend' with a more brutal feel to it, while being genuinely different, It reminds a little of shadow of the colussus, just the feel I get from it. I really like what has been shown and what I've read so far.

Definitely sounds like one to keep an eye on.

Sounds very interesting, shame they don't want the PC crowd in on the action.

A question if there is a gang of them bullying you, you have one shot you shoot one in the head might the rest of them think it isn't worth it or will they always attack, if occasionally they were like "Gee Whizz this guys a nutjob i'm gonna do one and pick on that innocent man looking at a map with a camera round his neck instead" If this happens maybe i will have to buy it for someones birthday and go round to theirs to play it.
