Rise of Nightmares

Good review CVG appreciate the glass half full approach for us kinect owners.

I shall give this a rent at some point out of curiosity and good to know that an action game can be made on the platform albeit with a large amount of room for improvement.

Bit of a mixed bag so far- I've seen reviews as low as 4/10 and as high as 8/10. Apparently once you get the knack of the controls it becomes a lot more fun- but I guess it depends how patient you are. I doubt fans of mindless zombie killing are the most patient of people. I'd like to see a demo so I could at least try it out because despite looking ugly as sin it looks like it could be a bit of a laugh.

And there was me thinking this might be a decent horror game, as opposed to a cabinet arcade horror shooter without the cabinet...or guns

This review far exceeds the IGN one. Which was terrible.

I'll be giving it a go at some point, but this weekend is going to be all about beating zombies to death on Dead island.

I've always admired Sega's ambition with new tech, when they still made consoles they were very ahead of their time, this though not great really should help push other developers in kinects direction. I don't have one but I'm sure the people that do will at least appreciate this even if its just as a rental.

"for those holding out for Kinect's truly killer R-rated app, the wait goes on" I dont think its ever going to happen, Kinect is a different kind of experience and should have games designed for what it is- something completely different. Unfortunately I dont think this has really happened yet either and Microsoft doesnt seem too interested in pushing the envelope so far.
