"What happened to all that LA Noire money?" I suspect it's in the pockets of Rockstar Chief executives and share holders

Shame, you dont like to hear of any business going into administration, although with Team Bondi, the writing has been on the wall for a while.

There was the whole PS3 exclusivity to begin with, then the protracted and drawn out dev process, then they go multi, then they partner with R*, and have the mother of all fall outs with them. The technology behind their motion scan must have cost a fortune but the real kicker is, how the Hell did they lose the IP ownership of their Game, LA Noire :? ?

Totally baffled.

Poor Team Bondi, they were obviously a badly run company but there's no denying they were a talented one. If Rockstar owns the rights perhaps it doesn't spell the end for the franchise which is a silver lining at least.

That's a crying shame! I feel so sorry for them and all their employee's now out of a job after all those years of hard work.
La Noire was a great game that sold loads, and everything about this seems unjust.

Hmm this is worrying. Although i found L.A. Noire to be boring by the end of the 3rd disc i did enjoy the story and type of gameplay. They made a master piece but properly were in major debt because of it. I have a theory (probs isnt right) that to make the game Rockstar wanted it to be they had to keep asking for money from Rockstar and because of that when the game went public team bondi had to repay all the money they borrowed from Rockstar leaving them with basically nothing after wages being paid and so on.

Good theory or completely stupid?

"We're absolutely baffled by this. What happened to all that LA Noire money? We'll bring you more as we get it..."
A very good question. LA Noire sold solds - how did the company that just released it suddenly fold shortly afterwards? Or was Team Bondi folding beforehand, and they ploughed on with LA Noire as some sort of labour of love, despite them knowing it was the end?

Either way, it's a shame. That said, they sounded like asshats... *shrug*

Shame because LA Noire is a great game that I was really getting into (at least until Deus Ex was released!). Not good to see game studios going under :(

The way that the majority of devlopers and publishers set themselves up in terms of finance and ip ownership etc.. is just wrong. Somebody is earning huge amounts of money from these games when they shouldn't be. If a game is too expensive to produce then really it shouldn't be made. I can't work out who are genuinely the bad guys in this industry but I can guess who they might be.

Maybe I'm wrong but Media Molecule's partnership with Sony seems to be the way forward.
