PlayStation Vita: Everything you need to know

Hands-on with Sony's new handheld...

The quality - that's what you notice first. It's solid, well built... plastic, admittedly, but posh plastic. Light and shiny, rather than cheap and weak.... read more

"Everything you need to know"

This article is a fail.
What about the Media storage, size, limits,
Come one... If your going to put that in the title then mean it.

Sony's own proprietary sd cards, 4 8 16 & 32 gb. Not all games will receive an sd card release though as most will be download.

Well since it only has 2 back buttons i don't see how people can say that all the games are going to be ps3 ports.

I don't think i've come across a ps3 game that didn't use all 4 back buttons.

More than likely use the touchscreen/touchpad.

Agreed. This is hardly "everything you need to know".
What about on board memory capacity? Video output and other connectivity options? Memory card compatibility and capacity limits? Compatible video and audio playback formats? Playstation Network integration? Local multiplayer options? Battery life? All of these are what I would consider to be things I need to know about.

So it can pretty much do everything the PS3 can...except it also has cross game party chat?

Soooooo, the PS Vita is better than the PS3 then?

The thing for me is I dont play my mobile gaming platforms at all so this one will need to completely blow me a way or come in at a reasonable price ... ie under £200 and have some great software released with it...

the release for the overpriced 3DS was a disaster too expensive and no killer titles on release day... oh they have zelda ... okay... well that aint going to get me to get it... I was hoping Nintendo would pull it out of the bag but they left it in there...

So I hope that Sony really make a success of this one...

This article is typical Official magazine gutter trash. I know the PSP2 will be amazing - but still - Sony said it's halfway between the PS2 and PS3 in terms of power. It could definitely replicate the look for linear titles like Uncharted or Killzone easily enough - but something more complex/sandbox would definitely take a noticeable drop. Still impressive though.

Sick of everything having to be touchscreen, hope the Vita doesn't force you to use the rear touchpad thing in unnecessary places like all early PS3 games and Sixaxis.
