Top bloke going against the corporate silliness and producing new original ip's. Capcom needs a kick up the arse.

Capcom do need a big shake up, producing nothing but sequels just wrecks series (resident evil being a prime example). But they are a business, and the only way they will listen is if people buy new IP's more and sequels less.

If Inafune's even half as good as he says he is, he really is amazing!

so this is the real reason why monster hunter didnt make it to ps3...because they were too busy making crappy button mashing nooby lost planet and dead rising with lower development costs.

Im happy, Lost planet was one of the reasons I fell in love with my 360, the second game was a bit balls though.

Wasnt a massive fan of Dead Rising but it did really show of the power of next gen consoles at the time. I say well done to the guy. How many sequels do people really want???

As much as I love new IPs, Capcom has such a rich reserve it'd be a shame if none of them got sequels. Especially Zack and Wiki! That is all.

That doesn't make any sense. All videogame series were new IPs in the first place just look at GTA.

GTA 1 didn't even sell a million and took until GTA 3 on PS2 to actually sell decent.

Now look at GTA its one of the best selling series ever.

Give games a chance and you may have the new GTA success story.

Can't really blame Capcom for trying to play it conservatively during an unsure time in their company history. They were lucky to have a guy like Inafune to help shake them out of it.

IMO everything Keiji Inafune says always portrays himself as the hero. He's on one big ego-trip and likes to think he's going against "the man". Capcom have stayed classy by staying silent. I bet he p**sed of people off there though and was probably a testing to work with at a high level.

Anyone ever see that dead rising film he did thats available on xbl as episodes? I watched them all out of morbid curiosity and a love for amusingly bad filmaking. Worth watching if you have a spare hour or so - just be aware it's an hour of your life you'll never get back. There's an interview with him on the last episode where he's talking about it and he really thinks it's amazing and he's a great director...
