I agree with Grasshopper. Its so shallow they should have just made it a fully story driven game and not tease you with a huge world filled with nothing, nothing and more nothing.

It will be about £10 in a few months anyway.

i'll pick it up from Asda on the way home then. Love a game with a good story and adding a little depth to the surroundings can only help that as far as i'm concerned.

I can't believe what a let down it's turned out to be, or at least it looks that way. This was one of my most anticipated games of the year and now it turns out it's a bag of wank. And on top of that i got confused with the release date of f1 2010 and thought it was coming out this month. August has been cruel to me this year.

I'm just about to swap in Kane and Lynch 2 for it. A wank game for another wank game, what a day

I'm not sure about the best place to buy this game... although secondhand, once the early purchasers who realise it's not the game they'd hoped for have sold it on, is probably the best purchasing option. The best way to play it would be renting it I would think. With a campaign of only about 14 hours, obviously no co-op (we all know how much developers struggle to build this into their games), no multiplayer, and from what I understand little reason to play through time and time again, buying it seems a waste of money.

jasonjet you do realise that you've just (featurewise) described bioshock.

It has no multiplayer, no real reason to play it again once you've finished it and is about 14 hours long. Yet is one of the best games ever made. Not saying Mafia 2 is i just find the compariaon funny.

Also no one here's actually played anything other than the demo and read reviews of it. which were mixed but generally favourable,

The way some of you go on you'd think you'd been forced to play it at gunpoint while having your nuts danglled in a tank full of pirahnas.

I bought it from Asda at midnight and i'm loving it. I'm a sucker for games with a good story and characters and this delivers on both fronts. I'm not fussed about multiplayer, i loved Uncharted 2 but i didn't touch the multiplayer once.

The thing is, games like this will always be compared to GTA but i recall 2K Games saying that it wouldn't be open world like Rockstar's title.

Anyway, back to Empire Bay....
