Mafia 2 giving away free hair cuts

Postby KMakawa » 26 Aug 2010, 12:10

Just to make sure that I am reading this correctly..
You get a free haircut at any six shopping stores around the country, and a free tshirt.
Just by playing the game..?

Okay now seriously, what the hell is going wrong in the world..

I think a DLC haircut would be more worthwhile.

How bizarre!

One of the strangest attempts at marketing I've heard of. I could understand if the freebee were a pizza.

In fact a free pizza would make a whole lot more sense. With the obvious Italian connection, and the popularity of italy's answer to cheese on toast, and the fact everyone loves free food, this would have been a far more successful, logical and popular giveaway.

If movies can have marketing campaigns in conjunction with popular burger joints, I don't see why games can't. Speaking of joints... both kinds would work for marketing campaigns for a mafia game; the frozen kind (although that would be as strange a giveaway as a haircut) we've all seen those images of the dead man in a frozen meat van, and we're all aware of the association of organised crime and drugs (not to mention I'm sure there are a few gamers who are partial to the odd homemade class B smoke!). A frozen or smoking joint with every copy of Mafia II would more than cover up some of those poor reviews it's been getting!!!

i have cut my own hair for months now.

waiting for the 'you can't afford a real hair cut' but really, it's simple and great fun actually.

people are just afraid to make that first cut. but if they realised how easy it was, they wouldn't waste their time and money going to a barbers.

i can do my hair exactly the way i want and experiment. all you need is some dexterity, a bit of skill and a wall mounted, and hand held mirror and also thinners scissors.

short back and sides no problem. keep it nice and short, every week. doing it tonight. 8)

no more birds nests.

I work in Basingstoke... and yesterday I looked at myself in the mirror and decided I need a haircut.

Win-win!

You're an odd little man! Not because you cut your own hair, but because you've gone into detail about the benefits and enjoyment of doing so.

Sadly, it seems we share something in common, in that I also cut my own hair. But for a slightly different reason. I have sh*t hair, and professionals can't do any more with it than I can. I agree it can actually be quite theraputic, especially when you're not vain enough to care about the end results.

One day all guys will realise personality and looks will get you more than an expensive haircut. Anyway, I'll stop there before I appear to be an odd little man too.

though my end results are class - better than the barbers.

you can absolutely do a barber grade quality job yourself. don't assume it's inferior.

my mates laughed at me when i got clippers and said i was gonna do my own hair. took a few months to actually be brave enough to try it. but i'm glad i did. now i have done my mates hair cause they seen the good results.

won't be going to the barbers again ever! it's defintely one less shackle.
