Postby chunkyboymania » 30 Jul 2010, 17:01

Maybe they should release some decent games if they want to see a good return.

b*****ks to Sega you used to be kings god damn it.

Shenmue 3 is what we all want but you're unwilling to milk that cash cow.

So it was "the adverse market conditon" that affected Iron Man 2 sales. Thanks for clearing that up Sega.

SEGA, u have multiple advantages here & there, you have the likes of Aliens & Ironman publishing licenses, when you're privledged with something like that, you better damn well make good use of them& either bring us a great game or none @ all

The major influence is probably that both of those games were awful, Sega. That poor Thor tie in doesn't stand a chance, and I want a good Thor game!

Games like Iron Man was the reason Sega bowed down from the hardware business in the first place.

There were plenty of reasons the dreamcast failed but the quality of games was not one of them.

yeah, shockingly, poor quality games that cost forty bloody quid sell poorly.

really, its not that hard. it isnt like putting a load of shXt on tv and hoping a load of thick birds will watch it, people wont stand for shoddy work, thank god, in this business

I was a huge Sega fan from the Megadrive to the Dreamcast, but this sort of comment goes to show that they have totally lost the plot.
The games in question were hardly triple A titles - Alpha Protocol had some some good ideas (I actually quite enjoyed it) but suffered from poor execution. As for Iron Man 2...based on a movie, nuff said.

Sega have some of the best IPs in the business, if they'd just stop milking the Megadrive games, releases some proper HD remakes of Saturn/Dreamcast games, and maybe some decent sequels, they'd be rolling in it.

Shining Force, Street of Rage, Panzer Dragoon, Daytona, Nights, Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Virtua Fighter, Fighting Vipers, House of the Dead, Shinobi, Crazy Taxi, Burning Rangers (which could work well on current tech) plus all the classic arcade games

Come on people, we're waiting!!!

If there blaming the 'adverse market conditions' on the sales of iron man 2 and alph protocol then all i can say is god help them.
In saying that they have some amazing looking games coming up including vanquish, which i cant wait to get my hands on.

As someone who grew up owning every sega console available (including the s**tty segacd), it's pretty tragic the state in which the company has become over the past decade or so. SEGA used to have some of the best developers in the world - now every time I see a game developed or published by them, I am automatically sceptical and assume it will be an average or dull game.

Seriously SEGA, stop releasing crap games and people will respond in sales. Making casual turds won't change their fortunes either.

Imo it was the megacd that was the turning point for sega. They must have invested millions on that and look at the way it turned out. I bought it on day one, i think it cost me over 300 quid. The game were not that much better than the megadrive ones with improved sound jaguar xj220 and night trap spring to mind.
They placed to much faith in FMV and it never took off. All the best to sega.

shenmue? a cash cow? hahaha! shenmue was a massive financial failure! even though they were wonderful games and have demand now, at the time they didn't. with that, i can understand why they'd be apprehensive about doing it. but since the demand is strong (like it is for a FF7 remake) they should grow some b*****ks and actually do it. they'd sell =( i'm not CEO of anything and i know that =/
