PES 2011

Good article. Feels different to the usual lip service we've been fed the last few years regarding the games flaws, so hopefully we will see a big improvement this year, and FIFA can be back where it belongs, in second spot.

Love the idea of being able to control your own passes properly, it's been a while since I've been able to pull off the perfect pass which I intended.

Master League online also sounds brilliant, hopefully the connection issues will have been sorted, if so it has the potential to be amazing.

Its refreshing to hear someone speak so honestly and passionately about games for once, its actually got me excited that there'llbe a genuine change this year.

Good article, and I sincerely hope Konami do get PES back to the glory days of yore, however...

The hardcore that moved to FIFA did so because the gameplay finally surpassed that of PES, which had been in decline for years. Now they have moved over, with EA's commitment to improving the game each and every year, all the official licenses, kits, stadia etc, PES is going to have to do something astronomical to bring them back I feel.

I moved over when FIFA 09 came along. FIFA 10 was awesome, and World Cup is in my opinion the best game of footie ever committed to disc. I loved Pro Evo, it was my game since before it was even Pro Evo (ISS Pro Evolution was the first on PS1, but I played ISS before that too), but even though I have this deep rooted love for the game, I really don't know how they can compete with FIFA, even if the game played every bit as good.

I want to believe though!

I hope they can do something to make editing the teams/stadiums easier so i dont have to faff about with option files on the internet.
Go on pro evo! Kick fifa's bottom this year ( And for years to come..)

Legend mode is where it's at for me. It's just so stupidly addictive, one more game turns into several.

Fifa what? :D

So FIFA had to scrap their engine because it wasn't good enough, and yet PES stuck with theirs, believing it's still good enough but really hasn't changed over the last 6 or so years? What a hypocrite.

sounds like they're trying to make it more like FIFA, what with the 360 degree control and power bar for passing etc (which worries me since I always liked PES's instantaneous passing - the FIFA power bar takes a split second too long to charge)

@ Flimflam. I've played FIFA too. It certainly isn't that good.

Am I the only person that thinks this new PES passing system is basically what FIFA has with their Manual passing setting? I've tried it with FIFA and it's incredibly hard to master, but if everyone is on a level playing field then it can be quite fun.

Me too, its the only things ive been playing the last 6 months really.

Plus using the Eye toy to create your character is perfect!

It looks great this year though and I have high hopes, even though I though last year didnt get the scores it should have, it was as good as PES 6 IMO.
