LA Noire face tech will 'blow you away'

Postby ParmaViolet » 17 Jun 2010, 10:31

Exactly what I wanted to hear.

I was really hoping to hear more about LA Noire, but was doubtful that it would make it to E3.

I'm not that surprised by this - R* had already said that this was what they were aiming for and some of the animation in Red Dead Redemption is also superb, so I was always expecting something that would raise the bar a little. It does really sound very special, though.

Is there any chance that the general public will get to see any of this anytime soon?

Headline should've been; "Face tech will blow you".
Some cheerleader at school or hot secretary at the office may not think you are cool but let’s be real, those very same bitches don’t love bacon and still use IE to explore the web.

That's definitely going to get into the quotes of the week post. Nice!

Of course it's all about how the faces look, sod the gameplay.

I want 1:1 reproduction of the stitching in the shoes.

In the case of LA Noire, the facial movements will play a part in the gameplay - so, if they've put a lot of effort into getting them right, it should hopefully make the game all the more enjoyable.

"The level of fidelity, not just in terms of detail, but the way the actors are able to convincingly evoke emotions, and suggest motivations that are often at odds with what they're saying, was just incredible. I can't wait to see more of LA Noire of the back of this."

Are you sure he wasn't just watching a DVD by accident?

Heavy Rain meets Mafia ? Fantastic, just the analogy to get me excited about L.A.Noir...ps I loved Heavy Rain, it was the best game I played since GTA San Andreas ( Yes it was that good )
