I was busy surfing the net, just listening to the conference, and I was just about to give up on it when I heard Glados' voice in the background. Highly unexpected.

I bought a PS3 at launch and 3 years later it seems like it might finally be worth switching on over my xbox 360.

Did anyone else think he looked really uncomfortable up on the stage?

He has been so vehemently opposed to PS3, this U turn is... well, just a bit weird to be honest.

I have always respected Valve's stance on PS3, they held a strong opinion on it, a real belief, and they stuck with it even when opposed.

To back track like this... I dunno, I kind of feel a little deflated. It makes no odds to me, if the PS3 version is the 'best' then I will get that one, but I think I may have lost a little respect for Gabe and Co.

I can't be the only who feels money was involved in this can I? It's a massive turnabout from valve and just seems a tad random perhaps I'm just paranoid. P.S we should really stop exclusive dlc and we should stop gimping games on specific consoles it doesn't help the industry it hurts it

Well i doubt Sony would have bought the services of Valve after his tirade against them, maybe in the past yes but Sony is very much about creating games in its own studio's these days rather than paying 3rd parties for games. Of course Gabe has probably seen that the PS3's userbase has made it a player now, as a ps3 owner im not that bothered by the news as none of the Valve games have ever really appealed to me.

I do find it a little funny that Xbox owners loved this guy for years for slagging off the ps3 yet now have no respect for him after this deal; guess they have lost one of there weapons on the fanboy war. The opinion from ps3 owners towards him won't have changed at all, who knows, guess we were more englightened in the first place.

Read again dude. I own a PS3. I'm just surprised at the U turn, given the repeated insistence for the longest time by Valve that the PS3 wasn't for them. It just seems odd.

Gabe is an ex-MS exec. so his first move was to try to get his Steam/cloud on the 360. And MS said, screw you Gabe, you don't work here no more. We are gonna keep this pie to ourself and you can't stick your fork in it.

So out goes Game's misplaced loyalty to his ex-employer and comes on hand and knies to Sony. Thankfully, Sony is proffesional enough to "forget" his remarks and see it as a good business deal. This is going to be a start of a very fruitful partnership. Bring on the complete valve library, including HL3.

I think the last line in the portal 2 trailer probably sums up the Sony/Valve partnership perfectly

"I think we can put our differences aside, for science. You monster!"

and yeah Gabe did look mighty uncomfortable, as if his family would only be returned if he complied.

but then he did say some damn nasty things about PS3
