In complimenting game's accuracy, paper can't resist a dig

Ah, The Daily Mail. Not content with creating what is effectively an anti-Liberal Democrat sub-site ('PANIC STATIONS! WE MUSTN'T LET THEM WIN!'), the UK's second most popular newspaper (sigh) has labelled the creators of EA's FIFA World Cup 2010 "geeks".... read more

It's hardly opinion where the Daily Mail are concerned to be honest. Anything they write or claim is stupid. Fact.

Tim Ingham in particular seems to be in charge of angrily attacking newspapers/politicians/film critics/gardeners.

Do you really think England will win the world cup? Seriously?

Hey, stranger things have happened but I wouldn't put any money on it.
Some cheerleader at school or hot secretary at the office may not think you are cool but let’s be real, those very same bitches don’t love bacon and still use IE to explore the web.

Nerdy Jock?!!!

Postby nineoutof10 » 21 Apr 2010, 14:44

I saw this last night on the dailymail website (which I read for sh*ts and giggles), and I too thought it was quite humerus that they referred to the development team as geeks!

Clearly from the fact that they're making games they must all geeks! The author must be a nerdy jock! Oh wait that's one the signs of the apocalypse!!! Run to the hills!

1. This a rubbish "story"
2. I wouldn't wipe my arse with the paper that the Daily Mail has been printed on
3. Anyone who reads the Daily Mail is a racist and believes the country is about to self destruct
4. The sport section in the Daily Mail is crap - try reading The Sun

'reactionary, embarrassingly out-of-touch fools'...

Excellent!

So if programmers and gamers are 'geeks' because they are fans of a certain passtime. Why do we not hear football fans being called 'Football Geeks'? Football fans are the worst fanboys of the lot! :)

So the Daily Mail is s**t. Hardly news is it?

Considering CVG's own news agenda - basically publishing any old crap that will stir fanboy chatter in the comments, often with deliberately misleading headlines - maybe you should get off your high horse Tim.

Yeah you did well on that Titchmarsh show, but that doesn't suddenly make CVG the guardian of gaming's reputation in the media. Especially if you're going to run this kind of crap.

All gamers should make a pact to forever more refer to the Daily Mail as the Daily Fail.

I must admit to being a little partial to the Daily Mails comments section - it's just ridiculous how stupid and self righteous some people are. Car crash stuff.

I'm not actually allowed to post a comment there though. Not since I tried to post on a story about a female sprinter that was found to be a hermaphrodite - all I wanted to say was 'I still definitely would'....but, apparently that's just not acceptable.
