God Of War III - NO HD install

Postby yetiC » 23 Feb 2010, 20:43

Personally I prefer games that DO have an install...

Chances are there will be patches that will be downloaded and er - installed anyway.

Does this mean both God of War 3 and Lost Planet 2 are best suited to a PS3, at least in terms of Blu-Ray capacity? I know GoW3 is PS3 exclusive, but is this a 'sign' of some games being pushed so far that Xbox 360 may struggle to cope? Btw, I own both consoles so no bias here.

Simple solution is multiple discs with HDD installs for xbox, problem with that is they sell xbox's without HDDs so not all xbox owners can do that. Maybe in the future Microsoft should consider bigger, cheaper HDDs. There are already plenty of 360 games that come on more than 1 disc.

On GoW3, I've never played God of War nor do I really like these types of games but I got access to the E3 demo last year somehow and I thought it was amazing. This is the reason despite having a 360 since launch that I bought a PS3 because the exclusives built specifically for PS3 are so much more impressive than anything else in the console market.

This game is sounding better and better! This week has been very pro PS3, wat with the news of GOW III (40 gb and no install) and lost plant 2 (DVD's are SO last gen). What has the 360 been shouting bout the most? Halo Reach, treating it like it's the last one EVER, which we all know is BS. And natal...you see the Jonathan Ross video? It looked so naff! And b4 u start, I think the ps3 dildowand is just as bad.

Well the 360 did have all the X10 stuff last week, so it's only fair the PS3 gets some coverage, no?

I'd like to see exactly what makes up this 40GB!

Im not sure on all of it but it is the european version. You can play the game with 9 different languages, there was other stuff but i dont remember.

Does this mean both God of War 3 and Lost Planet 2 are best suited to a PS3, at least in terms of Blu-Ray capacity?

Yes Blu-Ray is VASTLY SUPERIOR. Not a fanboy just stating FACTS. Blu-Ray is also superior to HD-DVD, just so everyone knows.

No doubt God of war 3 will be a masterpiece of gaming but i cant help but worry that with 40gb of data to load on the 2x blu ray drive of my ps3 that it will have horrendous loading times, that is the reason i always buy multi format titles for my 360 because i don't enjoy loading screens midgame or when i try to pause the game(bayonetta is a fair example of this).

I bet anyone a fiver that they will put a install option on this game within 6 months.

I'd rather it had the option, to be honest.
Faster load times? Why not?

whats the big deal?
id much rather a game have a game install and shorter loading times, than no game install and longer loading times.
uncharted 2 a perfect example it has no install but takes for freaking ever! to load the SP campaign.

Didn't see that coming - well expected a 5 gig install.
Shows that programmers are now taking advantage of the blu-ray streaming ability that the drive has.
