Boo to you High Voltage I thought you were what Rare were to the N64 but I guess not. I'm less looking forward to this one now.

Well you can understand why they did it. 90% of the Wii owners won't even know it has come out and will just carry on playing bloody Wii Sports.

You know what they say it's better to rule in hell then serve in heaven. On the wii the grinder is a unique title and one of a few core games. On the other consoles it's a Left 4 Dead clone, and a run of the mill shooter.

I don't see this selling much more now that its going to be on the other consoles. It'll just cost them more to develop and p**s off the small fan base they've carved for themselves on the wii.

Way to shoot yourself in the foot guys.

I'm not surprised, probably because of their p*ss poor sales of Conduit (which was generic to say the least)

Wow, were CVG up all night? Posted this at 3am...

I don't care so much, really. I think High Voltage are all mouth and no trousers. I do agree with Monkey's point, but since they're an average developer, to me its no big deal. I wouldn't say they were like Rare on the N64. They're not as as good as them now as Rare are hardly the force they used to be and they were certainly not a patch on them in their heyday

Fair play that High Voltage know the value of a good original IP, shame they don't have the imagination or the artists to produce one.

From the screens, the game looks pretty awful. I don't see it competing with Left 4 Dead on 360 or PC, and I don't see PS3 owners going for it either. Its best chance was probably in pleasing shooter-starved Wii gamers, but they'll probably get mardy about it now and buy it in even fewer numbers. Fail on all counts.

You are probably right.

I can see why they are releaseing this for other platforms too, but I don't think it is going to be any good. Looks like a Left 4 Dead ripoff.

If it is any good(I doubt it to be honest) I'll get it on the PC now.

Oh well. At least it is still another FPS on the Wii, regardless of whether it is exclusive or not.

I'd say they're a poor imitation of what Rare were 10 years ago.

The trouble is, that may have been just about acceptable ten years ago, but times have moved on, yet their ideas remain stuck in 1999...

No they have a New Zealand operative( or at least one of them moved to New Zealand)

I thought that this was supposed to be for Wii because this type of game wasn't there on that platform. It seems a bit odd to drop the exclusive after they hyped up their exclusivity to Wii as a platform.

I'm not really too bothered about this move, High Voltage at first seemed to have promise but then it just sort of fizzled out.

It's logically short-term. It achieves nothing in the longer term for the Wii, but the sales of the game will be improved greatly.
