oh god. please no.

dead space 1 is up there as one of my fav games EVER. dead space 2 was decent, but even that, a little too action-orientated.

why do this to such an epic universe?

f**k you cod.

I'm not surprised in the slightest... the demo was abysmal, I couldn't even finish it. It's tragic irony that Dead Space 3 has become the very game that the first Dead Space stole the survival horror crown from.

Dagnabbit, I enjoyed Dead Space and Dead Space 2 on the PC, have Dead Space 3 pre-ordered with Game on the PC and this news is very disheartening...such a shame that no "major" company likes survival horror games anymore :(

I read the AusGamer review before reading this and they gave it a 9/10, and it was a better, well written review than this one.

I'm no fanboy, but people slate COD for being the exact same thing year in year out. They had to change things from the 1st Dead Space as it would be the same thing over and over.

I loved DS1 but understood the reasons why they went more actioney in DS2.

I haven't played the demo, but again this game seems to be dividing opinions just like the DMc reboot did (which is great by the way)

However, I will not be buying this day one. Will wait for inevitable price crash.

I knew this was coming but it doesn't make it any less depressing, survival horror is officially dead in the retail games market. I still hold out hope for silent hill as it is still a horror game unlike the others and the last one showed some promise despite it's many flaws. However at the moment it's the pc indie devs keeping survival horror alive.

Oh yh f**k u EA!!!!

Well well well, EA drop another b*****k. After ruining the MOH franchise with the last outing here they are once more doing a Capcom and f**king this one up as well! Of course it is CODs fault, it always is, it has clearly hoodwinked us all with it's mesmeric gameplay, I have come to work today with odd socks on and that is also CODs fault.....

Bye bye Dead Space..... Which sensible dev/pub will now see a gaping Survival horror whole in the landscape, come on get on it chaps.

More guns and more action doesn't automatically make a game better, regardless of it's genre, just look at halo's dual wielding as an example.

I'm just pleased that the reviewer had the nerve to criticise it for all the things we've been moaning about for so long, (still seems a little high in score considering the faults) but at least it's a start, here's hoping it undersells and developers take note.

*throws Dead Space on the pile of ruined franchises

Happy now EA ? how many more franchises are you going to destroy in order to satisfy your sexually perverse pursuit of CoD-esque sales.

Bunch of perverts.

Bloody Marvelous,i have absoulutely no interest in playing this co-op so will not be playing from the sounds of it some of the best bits.
when i played the demo it left me feeling a bit cold (no pun intended ) i just could not get excited about playing the full game.oh well may have a look when the price drops like a stone, so about a month from now then. :D

Good point, I will throw them in a pit in that case, hopefully they will land on the idiots responsible for this (and other shambles)

Disappointingly, it sounds like they have ruined it. Off you go into the garbage compactor Dead Space, watch out for the Dianoga.
