No, these are masterpieces.

Some highly stylised film posters that I like:

You like black, white and one colour, don't you? Very striking, I suppose, but I find the minimalist approach a little uninteresting and overdone. Personal opinion, mind.

:P

I don't know what it is but I find hight contrast and block colours really appealing, but I'd agree that it's a tad overdone.

What the f**k is going on?

Doug and Izo on a mission to clean up the boards?

I suggest you start by banning Doug, the demented t**t.

I got balladeer all wrong, dave.
I thought he was ok but I never realised he was a little snitchy girl like spaced out.
Get rid of both of them.

This is my current screen saver.

I love the sort of bitter loneliness it portrays, almost Ghibli.

I reminded myself of Pop Art in another thread, so here's an obvious picture.

And also here's the slightly haunting one completed just after her death.

If I had any real artistic ability that's the kind of thing I'd like to have a go at.

Also this is... quite interesting.

Maggie Thatcher sure does scrub up well.
Genius behind Niptendo (TM pending)

I distrust patriotism; the reasonable man can find little in these days that is worth dying for. But dying against - there's enough iniquity in Europe to carry the most urbane or decadent into battle.

You know maybe it was just because I like X-Files, but I quite liked one or two of the songs of hers in The Post-Modern Prometheus episode.

A couple of really high resolution paintings with some zoom features that give you a good look at their surfaces, quite interesting if you find that kind of thing interesting.

Madonna with the Blue Diadem
The Lady Praying

More stuff like that here.

Culture! Woo! Yay!

Just watched the most recent Culture Show, there's a pretty neat exhibition by Yayoi Kusama about eight and a half minutes in.

The "Infinity Mirrored Room: Filled with the Brilliance of Life" room at eleven and a half minutes in is brilliant.
