I've not seen a specific thread for this, so here it is.
No specific order:

1) Lord of the Rings
2) Con Air
3) Terminator 2
4) The Day after Tomorrow
5) Aliens

What are yours?

1: Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin): Trust and Betrayal
2: Battle Royale
3: The Seven Samurai
4: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
5: Spirited Away

I'm not a massive fan of Hollywood films these days, although Lord of the Rings (particularly part 3) deserves a mention. District 9 was also great. I also like Star Wars quite a bit.

But I can't go a month without watching Trust and Betrayal, which is truly epic. In truth, it's an OVA series, but it was collected together as a movie at one stage so I'm including it. The other RuroKen movie, simply called 'Rurouni Kenshin: The Motion Picture', was also good, but I like the more dramatic and serious approach in Trust & Betrayal.

Battle Royale was something rare -clever and violent all at once. A truly epic film which really gets you thinking. I don't think I even need to explain why I like The Seven Samurai since the works of Akira Kurosawa are so legendary.

I don't really know what I like about CTHD, but I do like it, a lot. I think the performances are exemplary. the story epic and the special effects stunning.

Spirited Away is a Ghibli film, enough said.

Yeah I always loved The Running Man cuz I watched it when I was a kid. But I bought it a couple of weeks ago and watched it with my missus, not as good as I remembered but I still enjoyed it. Predator is a all time great in my opinion, I still love that film so much.

Why does everyone prefer Part 3? My favourite was the first one, I realise 3 was the epic climax, but still, the first was the best! (Or the Two Towers for Sam's speech at the end.)

My favourite part in the trilogy is in three, the heroic charge on the Gate of Mordor, truly an epic moment in cinema history.

Lord of the Flies = Awesome commentary on the nature of man.

Lord of the Rings = Midgets, dwarfs, elves, wizards and other fictional characters... and a magic ring.

Lord of the Dance = Jesus

Hope that helps.
