Tennis Games

Postby Phillips » 25 Feb 2013, 12:05

There aren't many tennis games that I've come across that I don't like. I just think it's a sport that translates very well to computer gaming. My favourite is probably Mario Tennis on the N64 - a minor classic, in my opinion - though nothing did more to rekindle my love for computer games than Wii Sports Tennis did back on Hogmanay 2006. Playing it for the first time in a packed, boozed-up living room was the most fun I think I've ever had playing a game.

Let's talk tennis! ...if anybody's still reading...!

I'm reading, but my post is just going to be a copy of yours, Phillips. The only other two I've played were the power shot-heavy Mario Power Tennis and the content-light Mario Tennis Open, so...

Mario Tennis is very good, Wii Sports is also good, never actually played any other tennis games, which is a shame because a lot of them look good or very good.

The tennis game I've most enjoyed to date is Mario Tennis Open. Personally I value its replayability over its actual content, though I realise that people have a valid complaint.

But I can't replay it! I don't enjoy online and I have no one to play with locally.

I know it's not on a Nintendo system but Virtua Tennis beats all.

I really enjoy Mario Tennis online purely because I'm so good at it, and yes that was sort of an open challenge (pun not originally intended but noticed before I wrote it and I'm happy with it).
