Are you still playing your Xbox 1 on L!ve?

Postby Chef_P » 04 Feb 2006, 11:04

Great games such as Moto GP 2 & 3, Links, PGR 2, Farcry, Wolfenstein, TOCA 2 & Unreal are still not playable via backwards compat. on 360.

Are any of you still playing these games on L!ve via your first Xbox now that you have your 360?

Yeah I'm still using my Xbox for all Xbox games, I don't like this 'backwards compatibility' as for a start you can't transfer saves. But yes Xbox Live games like Far Cry and Timesplitters still aren't compatible anyway.

The backwards compatibility is a bit hit n miss. Generally when I've played Halo 2 on my 360 it's run smoother but there are occasions where it just slows down really bad like lag yet when you hit the back button everybody's connection shows as green. :?

The save transfer (like you said) is also a bummer. Fook going back & doing games like Forza all over again.

I would have liked to start playing PES5 on the 360 but again it's the lack of save transfers that stops that - I'll give it a try, but I'm sticking with the Xbox.

It's funny how Microsoft kept using the backwards compatible phrase, yet mess this all up, and then I read suggestions that backwards compatability isn't that important - I wish they'd make up their minds.

Definently, they should commit to it fully or not bother at all.

My first xbox died just as the B/C list was announced. so I had no choice to start again so I left all the b/c games untill I got my Hdd. I still play live on the Xbox if the game isn't 360 supported.

can you play xbox 360 backwards compatible games on live against regular xbox users or is it just 360 players vs other 360 players? :?:

You can play Pro Evo 5 on Xbox 360, against somebody playing it on a standard Xbox. Same with Forza, it just takes you to the standard Xbox Live service, rendering your 360 guide button uninformative.

Excellent, I read in games tm that pro evo now allows 2 players on one xbox to play against two others on live. I prefer playing with someone else, its easier to build attacks that relying on the team AI.

Cheers.

beg to differ unless you have an extremley pants softmod.

most softmods install a shadow C drive which hides any dodgy content you may have on your xbox.

simply start up your machine with the original game you want to play on live in the drive and it will 'cold boot' your machine. Basically your machine will auto boot to the game and the softmod will never kick in - therefore your machine will be safe to play online.

My xbox has been softmodded for about 2 years now and it works a charm online.

which softmod do you have??

If its blackwars or krayzies then you will DEFFO be ok if you coldboot your machine.
