So Lewis is the 7th different winner from 7 races. What a crazy season! Good to see Hamilton back on the top step too, it's been a while! We're really starting to see Button's limitations now too. When the car is not to his liking, he's average at the very best. 16th place is appalling for a McLaren car that was obviously fast enough to win.

Yeah, chuffed for Lewis too. Although, if I'm honest, I'm starting to really despise these new tyres. It just feels so fake with all these upside down results. It feels like for all the technical marvel these cars are built on, it's the tyres that are dictating who wins what by how each teams design reacts to track temperatures. It's not something created by design, its a result of hundreds of permutations.

It makes for better racing for the casual, not sure if the purest in me likes it though.

Anyone watching the Le Mans 24 hour? Anthony Davidson apparently has a broken back after his big shunt yesterday!

Not been watching it, just saw a YouTube clip of it though. That's a massive shunt, he's very lucky to walk out of that one. He's broken two vertebrae apparently, doesn't sound like it's a major injury from what I've read.

I used to do the whole La Mans 5 day camping thing every year, it's the most mental 5 days you'll ever have. It's essentially a week long stag do with about 300,000 blokes. We used to take a genny and a fridge to keep our beers cold.

Every year I'm struggling to find free live transmission.
Also, anyone fancy Lee?

Mental race today. They were droppin like flies towards the end there! As much as I hate him, you have to hand it to Alonso. He keeps dragging results out of that car that he has no right to get. He's the best driver on the grid imo. And what about Schumi?! About bloody time he got back on the podium!

I think Alonso is a right tool, but he's the best driver out there for me. Hamilton is faster, but he doesn't have the race craft. Another batshit crazy race, makes for good viewing!

Maldonado is a f**king liability. He may be quick but he doesn't have the temperament, I absolutely knew he would collide with Hamilton once it was obvious he was going to get past him. The several incidents where he's deliberately swiped other drivers just adds to the general dislike I have for the man.

Raikkonnen was always better driver than Alonso in my eyes, he's second with lotus today.

Don't really post here cos I don't know much about the ins and outs but I've been watching the F1 for about 3 or 4 years now as it seems to have got much more exciting recently. Especially this season.

A bit Gutted Alonso won today. I just don't like the man. I'm impressed with Webber though. I know he is in the best car, but he consistently does well despite hardly ever winning.

Noob question - Why is that called the 'European Grand Prix' when there are others that are in Europe?

I don't think I know anybody who actually likes Alonso, apart from Ferrari fanboys who are the worst. F1 has been getting more exciting as each year passes for a number of years now. I've always just been a casual F1 fan, though.
Victory is just a prelude to the next battle.

The European GP was set-up for commercial reasons. It's there to give whatever market that rises due to success an extra GP. In recent years it has been Valencia because Spain's viewing figures has gone from 400k to 5-6 million, thanks to Alonso's success. Despite the money in Asian markets, Europes viewing figures are always the highest on a per capita demographic basis - in other words, Europeans have more disposable income.

The season after Raikkonen won his World Title says it all about him. He was a disgrace, he looked like he didn't give a f**k. "I've won a World title and I'm just going to enjoy it and get some more money now" is how I saw that season for Raikkonen. Alonso just got better and hungrier after his first title. If Raikkonen was in that Ferrari, he'd have half the points Alonso has I reckon!

Do you remember when Alonso was scoring his titles with Renault McLaren was s**t back then and very unreliable.
Also Raikkonnen left to wrc, because he was sick of politics and bullshit that was going on bak then in f1.
