What do you mean nothing happens? In order to see all the files on it there in an option you need to change, can't remember of the top of my head.

Oh and moved to the PS forum.

Its a playstation question therefore it goes in the Playstation forum, people will be more than willing to help if you ask nicely, regardless of which forum you use.

Because it's a question relating to the PS3, not gaming in general. Don't be abusive just because someone helped you out - you're more likely to get help in here than in General Gaming.

*gets out dictionary*

What?

I moved it because as it has been mentioned it is a PS3 issue not one related to gaming in general. The forum titles should help you work out which one you need.

I was willing to help you before you started acting like a tool, luckily for you Daedalus is still being helpful.

Formatting a harddrive will delete the data on it, im not sure if changing it from sata to FAT32 will but if you have stuff on there you want to keep id suggest backing it up first.

You don't need to convert it to FAT32 to stream music/films of it though.

well wen he gave it to me he said he had put nearly 100 songs so i thought i would just plug it in ps3 and tht would be enough to watch them all cause he said he just put it in 360 and it worked fine.but whats the difference between streaming and whatever i would normally do.

The p3 needlessly complicates things, if you have a wireless network it would be easiest to just plug the harddrive into your pc and stream your songs etc over to the ps3 (if the songs/vids are in the appropriate format, only certain file formats work on the ps3).
