Sunday Roast.

Postby rbt2 » 10 Feb 2013, 17:56

Is there any better dinner/tea of the week?
We will have ours at approximately 1800 hours as the crow flys.
On a Sunday we have a lateish fry up for brekkers at 11 0'clock or so but wait for the big un.
My roast potatoes can never be equalled.
I do them in goose fat, par boiling them and then 'roughing them up' before hand.
Sunday roast.....best meal ever?
Well apart from me mum's stew and meat pie obviously but still....wadda you think?

My best would be something i don't have every week like a Sunday roast, they get a bit too familiar.

So mine would probably be a mixed doner and chicken kebab with loads of salad, pita bread and mild chilli sauce. You feel it the day after though.
Here's a lockpick, now jog on.

Well it's been about 20 mins since the last piece of broccolli got swallowed....to all my northern chums, broccolli is a vegetable.
A green one too.
It weren't a bad dinner. Not great either mind.
The broccolli was a tad underdone.
The roast potatoes were once again without fault.
7.8 out of 10
Now looking forward to me cornetto.

A cheese and onion crisp sandwich is the best meal ever.

Might as well lock the thread now, any other answer will just be wrong.
Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to stay on my toes.

For me the best roast potatoes have been cooked with garlic and rosemary. Not just the same otherwise.

I hold roasties in such high esteem they are saved until last generally. i had broccoli, carrot and swede mash, and homemade ratatouille with mine, oh and couple of cheeky yorkies and homemade stuffing balls. somehow the pork was a bit s**t though. Mrs Shellster is an excellent cook but she took her eyes off the ball there.
Loving LCFC's surge to the top.
