christmas....

Postby rbt2 » 14 Dec 2012, 20:34

.......It's a needless expense, isn't it?
I hate Christmas.
Me mum died at the end of December so it can't go quick enough for me.
I would still hate it though.
Regardless.
So what do you think about Xmas?

Love it! It's great when you've got kids and they're really excited about it. I was fed up with it a few years back but since Harrison has started understanding it and asking about santa and the reindeers its just brought back all the excitement.

As for New Years that can f**k right off. People acting all fake in pubs shaking hands and kissing each other. Come 12.05am there ready to fight each other.

New years is the worst night of the year, overhyped rubbish. Club prices are 5x more expensive than usual, its busy as f**k and cabbies charge an arm and a leg. Id rather just go out on the 30th instead and chill on the 31st. As for christmas, Im one of those people with a December birthday so always find one overshadowing the other. My favourite part of xmas is the turkey, f**k presents and the queen.

Shouldn't you have a comma after Nazi?

Divn't really celebrate it, not for years. We had a passing on the 28th of December about 8 years ago, since then s**t seems to happen in December.

Plus you can't really act surprised unwrapping clothes you've got when you were there when they were bought. And that you payed for.

And Christmas tele is s**t nowadays as well.
Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to stay on my toes.

Go round Wigan on Boxing night, it's even worse. Although it is the world famous Wigan fancy dress, when every single person who is out in fancy dress, no really. Prices though, I mean some places which are usually free to get in cost £20, it's f**king mental. So busy, just not worth it.

If I was bothered about commas I would've spelt 'going' right!

It's sloppy Flair. :P I don't know why and I've never known why but I've always been told it's sloppy.

Here's one for you grammar boys, why is it miles AN hour and not miles A hour?

EDIT - Actually no, that's not the one. There's a weird grammar thing I was talking to a mate about ages ago but I've forgot it now so ignore this.

Okay, I'll admit that you don't pronounce the 'h' in 'hour', but you just have to pronounce it in 'hospital'. Also in the word "haitch".

Yes, we're back on this!

No, it's a weird thing to do with plurals. b*****ks I can't remember.

Would've been an interesting question that aswell.

EDIT - No, you're right! You say 'an hour' and not 'a hour' which is weird cos you only are supposed to use 'an' if the next word starts with a vowel. In hour though the 'h' is silent so that's why it works.

Ahh. I feel better now. A bit sadder, but better.

Christmas eh? Not fussed really.

I'm not sure what you mean. It's 'miles AN hour' because it's 'AN hour' normally?

Either way, it's 'miles per hour', bitch.

You say, 'I'll be there in AN hour', not 'A hour' whereas that's wrong cos the next word doesn't start with a vowel. The H is silent though so that's why it works.

I dunno why I even brought it up to be honest. :D

Spot on!
A sweaty celebration that no Englishman should celebrate.
Never been to a good New Year's Eve party yet.
And I got a shag at one once.
Still s**t though.
